WEST Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox this week said he was 'delighted' that extra investment into social care service delivery across Devon has been confirmed by Devon County Council..
The investment, including the transfer of funds from the Department of Health, amounts to over £11-million for 2011/2012, and around £13-million for 2012/13. The investment is to be managed through a partnership of Devon County Council, NHS Devon and local GPs.
Mr Cox said: 'This is very good news for older people across Devon, and a very welcome contribution from the government. One way money will be targeted is through supporting people to remain in their homes, giving extra independence and choice which is truly valued.
'It is important that we look after all groups in our communities. I look forward to seeing this investment bring real benefits to our older residents.'
