THE Cards for Good Causes shop in Tavistock will be selling its Christmas cards in a different location this year.
The organisers are hoping for an even more successful season than before in their new home in the main church building of Tavistock United Reformed Church, in Russell Street.
The shop was a big success last year and more than 30 charities benefited from the sale of the cards, with proceeds amounting to over £4.9-million.
The Tavistock shop is one of a national network of more than 300 Cards for Good Causes outlets.
Because operating costs are kept to a minimum, charities receive at least 81p in every £1 from their card sales, out of which they have to pay for the production and distribution of their cards and any VAT.
The Tavistock shop will be open from October 19 to December 18, Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm. Anyone interested in volunteering to help in the shop on behalf of a charity should call 01822 614791.
