HATHERLEIGH firefighters were called out to a car which burst into fire on the A3072 at Highampton last weekend. The call out came shortly before 5.30pm on Sunday. The car was severely damaged by fire. The blaze was eventually put out by one crew from Hatherleigh used breathing apparatus and hose reels. l Beaters and hose reels were used by the crew on Saturday evening to put out a fire in a field in Hatherleigh. The fire broke out in a field near Gribbleford Bridge in Hatherleigh at around 8pm.
