PAST captain, Gerry Boyce, donated a trophy to Hurdwick Golf Club, to be played for on an annual basis, with entry limited to veteran club members.
The 2004 event was played this month and the winner was Chris Dicker with 38 points.
Second was Ray Hurle with 34 points and Rodney Browne took third with 33 points. Coincidentally, all of the first three are past Hurdwick captains.
The midweek medal was played in difficult conditions but produced excellent results from the top three in division one.
The leader was Tony Pearson with an excellent net 66. He was followed by Tim Hawkins and Roger Ballimore, both on 69, but Tim took second place on back nine.
Division two saw a close finish with the first three all scoring a net 75. John Chapman was the winner, followed by Ray Hurle and John Burrough. Chris Tear and John Rea shared the ?Two?s? sweep.
The main competition of the month was the annual Beersellers medal, which is sponsored by the Brewery Company. Tony Pearson was again the division one winner and produced the best result of the day to take the Beersellers Trophy. He finished with a net 68.
Roger Downing was second with 69 and Kevin Pugh was third with 71.
Division two winner, on back nine, was Chris Tear with 69. Chris also took the runners-up trophy pm his overall result. In second place was Ray Truscott, also with 69, and he was followed by Rob Archer with 70.
Sally Arscott took the ladies? trophy with a net 72.
The only ?Two? of the day came from Kevin Pugh, who won the sweep.
