Okehampton U16 ..........48 South Molton U16 5 OKEHAMPTON had only 14 players for this game and the first half was very even. Carl Poynton kicked a penalty after 10 minutes. South Molton then hit back with a try out wide. Okehampton wing, James Mitchell, then scored in the corner for a half-time score of 8-5. Okehampton?s forwards then took control. The ball was spun wide for Carl Goodall to score, Goodall then ran in a second from halfway. Good pressure tackling by centre Rory Honeychurch and half-backs Carl Poynton and Richard Friend led to Rob Long picking up on the loose ball to run 30 metres to score under the post, Friend converting. Long then scored another similar try. A Poynton kick and chase led to Luke Crocker supporting well to touch down and the final try was a solo 40 metre sprint by Bennie. Poynton converted 4. Full-back and captain Jake Chisholm led by example with some good tackles when South Molton tried to use their player advantage out wide to counter-attack.
