Calstock v Yelverton
THIS game was played in a friendly atmosphere throughtout.
Calstock batted first and lost two wickets early on with M Rundle bowled by I Dawe for 5 and B Pomeroy bowled by Emily Adams for 19. The home side were 60-2 after 20 overs with some good bowling from Yelverton's I Dawe 5-3-11-1, J Stokes 5-1-10-0 and E Adams 5-0-25-1.
Drinks worked magic for Calstock as powerful batting from Richard Porritt 32, Jon Lambert 49 and Paul Worth 35 meant that at the end of their 40 overs Calstock had set a challenging 189-6.
Yelverton got off to a edgy start when they lost two wickets in consecutive balls to the bowling of Ben Tookey and found themselves on 14-2.
Yelverton's two Indian players, Joseph Stabin and Rohit Garg, both batted well before first Stabin had to leave to go to work back in Plymouth after getting himself to 36 not out and Garg scored a good 27. After this Yelverton lost steady wickets but did manage to get to the end of their 40 overs without losing all 10. finishing on 116-8.
All four Calstock bowlers bowled well - Ben Tookey 10-4-39-3, Mark Rundle 10-2-31-2, Jon Lambert 10-2-19-2 and B Hewitt 10-2-25-0
Calstock 19 points and Yelverton 6pts. Man of the match was Calstock's Jon Lambert for his 49 and 2-19.
