AN appeal was this week launched, in an attempt to trace past members of Tavistock Amateur Operatic Society. The organisation, which is now known as Tavistock Musical Theatre Company, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the operatic society having re-formed after the second world war in 1955. Julian Bennett, vice-chairman of the the company, said: ?The show the society performed then was The Mikado, and to commemorate the anniversary, we have decided to perform a new, modern version of the Mikado to celebrate.? Julian said the company would love past members to join them in their celebrations and appealed to them to get in touch. ?We are holding a dinner dance in November at the Two Bridges Hotel and it would be wonderful to have many of the past members there to celebrate,? he said. Anyone who would like more information about the 50th anniversary celebrations should call Julian Bennett on 01822 615075.
