The museum welcomed 5,070 visitors from when it opened on March 23 to Sunday November 2, and visitors came from as far as America, Europe and the Antipodes.

Located in Court Gate, the eastern portal of the old Benedictine Abbey, a joint venture of Tavistock Town Council and Tavistock and District Local History Society, it welcomed 1,300 more visitors than last year.

The museum will open again on Easter Saturday April 10 when some new exhibits will be on display.
