COUNCILLOR Eberlie (Letters, December 12) has been a firm supporter of Hedgeline and I wish to endorse his comments re the planting of new trees to enhance the lovely town of Tavistock.
Monster hedges, of which Leylandii are the worst offenders, are to be subject to Government legislation within the near future and I think we can then begin to enhance our environment.
I personally make one plea ? let us have some lovely spring flowering trees to cheer us up after a dreary winter, almonds and cherries to brighten our estates both with blossom and autumn colour.
Suggestions are always welcome, so come on, fellow citizens, let us hear from you ? this is your town.
