VISITORS flocked to Gulworthy Parish Hall on Sunday for a bazaar held to help raise funds for the hall’s refurbishment.
The refurbishment has entered its second phase, in which fundraising has started for the future installation of under-floor heating an other improvements. A large up-to-date kitchen is now up and running and a wood pellet burner has recently been installed to provide heating.
As well as offering cream teas, games, draws and various stalls, the bazaar provided a chance to start the ‘Wall of Support’ with plaques to place on the wall on sale. The wording for the plaques, for a minimum donation of £16, is each individual’s choice and could even be used as a plaque of remembrance for a past family member.
The event raised £785.75, which organisers said was a good start to their fundraising goal.
Plaques are still available to purchase. Anyone who would like to help raise funds by sponsoring a plaque can do so by calling 01822 832400.
