FIRE crews used hydraulic equipment to rescue an eight year old boy trapped in a tree in Trinity Way, Tavistock, last Wednesday afternoon.
Station officer Tony Clark said the boy?s knee was wedged in the fork of the tree and in order to prevent any injury to the child or damage to the tree heavier rescue equipment than the norm was called for.
The child, who had been playing in the tree, was safely back on solid ground within an hour.
