SEVEN-year-old Ben Bluett from Tavistock has completed a run for Comic Relief and raised a massive £546.
Ben, a pupil at St Rumon's School, wanted to help the children in Africa after watching a television programme on Sport Relief at Christmas.
He ran 2.5km instead of the 1km he had pledged to run, in the grounds of Mount House School where his mother, Denise Bluett, works. Even more impressive was the fact that prior to his charity effort Ben had been diving and in the gym.
Mrs Bluett said: 'Ben saw how the children of Africa lived and how little they had when he watched the programme at Christmas.
'He immediately emptied his own money box before deciding how else he could raise money. We are all very proud of him.'
