THIS equally fought game saw Tavistock take control of the first half with fast networking hockey which kept Okehampton on their heels.
Joe Hess opened the scoring, receiving a hard pass on the top of the circle using a reverse stick strike to clear past the Okehampton keeper.
Okehampton raised their game and were rewarded when Richard Games picked up a loose ball and struck a fierce shot from 10 yards out that caught Tavistock keeper Neil Bradley unbalanced and found the side net.
The second half saw a more balanced game with end to end attacks from both sides, resulting in Carl Jeffery picking up a rebound shot off the Okehampton keeper and coolly putting a finishing slap shot under him.
Misfortune struck when Tavistock's midfielder John Barrett took a hard fall, broke a rib and was substituted.
Okehampton put together a stream of attacks. Tavistock keeper Bradley and left back Roger Costello pulled off three dramatic goal-line clearances, before Okehampton's Simon Garland slotted a rebound ball into the backboard.
