A CHARITY ball held in Okehampton last weekend raised more than £900 for gynaecological cancer.

The Conservative Club on?Saturday hosted the Sparkle Ball to raise funds for the Eve Appeal Gynaecology Cancer Research Fund.

Organiser Liz Williams said: 'We had a great evening. It was great to see new faces there this year along with many that supported the event last year as well. 

'The auction was really well supported with great bids being placed for tickets to see Exeter Chiefs and two days of cricket at Somerset CCC.'

The next event for the Eve Appeal is a ladies' pamper evening on September 29 from 7pm at the Conservative Club. For more details call Liz Williams on 07902 742408.
