POLICE in Tavistock are appealing for witnesses after a heavily pregnant woman had a bag stolen from her in the Meadows last week.
The incident occurred at about 5.20pm on Friday September 20.
PC Shaun Harris described the thief as a white male, aged about 30, 5ft 8in tall, wearing a short-sleeved white T-shirt and faded denim jeans and with a tubby round face. He had dark, scruffy, greying wavy hair.
PC Harris said: 'He came up behind the woman and asked her what she had in her bag. He then snatched the carrier bag from her left hand and ran off in the direction of Plymouth Road, towards the library.'
