DESPITE the bad weather Tavistock seconds hockey team started brightly and took the lead after ten minutes.
Good work from Young and Roomes down the left side resulted in a sweet strike from Barrett.
Tavistock found themselves two goals to the good after a fine interchange of passing allowed Holland to score. For the second week running Reid claimed man of the match and crowned it with a fine goal pushed past the goalkeeper just before half-time.
Despite the 3-0 half-time score the game was evenly fought and Truro came back strongly in the second half.
Holden was forced to leave the field after sustaining a broken collar bone after an innocuous challenge.
Despite this setback Tavistock managed another goal through Reid after strong work from Cooley and Glanville.
Due to the worsening weather the match was abandoned with ten minutes remaining, though the league result will still stand.
