STUDENTS at Tavistock College were recently lucky enough to meet author Angie Sage, as she paid a visit to the school's library.
During an informal lunchtime talk, Angie explained to students how she got started as an author and how her childhood had influenced her writing.
Starting out as an illustrator, she has illustrated about a dozen toddlers and young reader books, the best known of which is the 'Araminta Spookie' series. She wrote and published her first book 'Magyk' in 2005, and went on to write a series that follows the adventures of Septimus Heap, who as a seventh son of a seventh son, has extraordinary magic powers.
Year seven student Emma Sampson said: 'I really enjoyed meeting Angie as she is a great author and illustrator. One of my favourite bits was when she read part of her new book and signed our books and notepads. I hope that Angie writes another book for everyone to read as I discovered that her books are fab.
'Meeting Angie inspired me to draw and write as she does.'
