LAST week Callington police reported several sheep being injured or killed by dogs off their leads in the Florence Road area of Callington.

The attacks took place on two separate occasions — between October 9 and 10 three sheep were attacked and killed and between October 16 and 17, one ewe was attacked and killed.

Police are asking dog owners to keep their pets on leads or under close control while in the area and to remember that if your dog worries sheep or other livestock, the farmer is within his rights to shoot the dog.
