PAINTINGS in oil, watercolour and mixed media go on display at Buckland Abbey next month.
Pathways is an exhibition of recent paintings by CanzArt, which comprises artists from West Devon and East Cornwall.
Paintings on display and for sale include works by Roselle Angwin, Pat Bates, James Burton, Nicholas Collier, Felicite Darwall, Vera Johns, Paddy Langworthy, Jane Leitch, Gaye Martin, Clark Nicol, Sally O'Neill, Ian Pethers, Tania Skeaping, and Derek Stirland.
The venue for this exhibition, Buckland Abbey, is also well worth a visit. The last Cistercian foundation in England, and originally established in 1278 , it was to become the home of Elizabethan seafarers Grenville and Drake until eventually being acquired by the National Trust in 1948 . Both the house and gardens are open to the public and treasures include relics from the Spanish Armada and Drake's Drum. Legend has it that the drum will sound should England ever be in danger.
Pathways can be see at Buckland Abbey between October 4 and 10. For more information about CanzArt go to the website at http://www.canzart.co.uk">www.canzart.co.uk
