Arson attack suspected

FIREFIGHTERS in North Tawton were called to a suspected arson attack on a vehicle in the town which took place late on Saturday evening.

Twiggy Lake, station sub-officer, said the crew were called to extinguish the fire in Butts Way, North Tawton, at around 11pm. The fire was extinguished within ten to 15 minutes.

Mr Lake said the car appeared to have been deliberately set on fire using plastic netting and wooden palettes.

The incident is being investigated by Police and the Fire Brigade Arson Task Force, who believe it could be linked to other recent incidents in North Tawton.
