Lyme Regis U11s 1 Okehampton Argyle U11s 5 AFTER the long journey down to the coast Argyle started the match bright and eager with some excellent team football being played. A terrific passing move starting in their own half led to Jamie Mallet crossing for Rhys Palmer to head the ball into the net for the visitors. A second goal soon came from some fine individual play from Ross Voaden ending with him lobbing the keeper. Argyle continued their good play and netted a third before half-time when the ball bobbled in the area and Rhys Palmer knocked it in. With the wind against them Argyle had their work cut out in the second half. Lyme Regis were quick to take advantage and soon pulled a goal back. Argyle battled on and were rewarded by Aaron Dearing, having a break from goal, taking a great shot and scoring from a tight angle . The final goal arose from another great cross from Jamie Mallet which Ross Voaden powerfully headed into the back of the net. This was a good standard of football played with some super performances but, from Argyle, particularly Ryan Gross, Ben Barkwill, Ross Voaden and Jamie Mallet and the player of the match Dan Hornibrook. Post match cool down this week involved Argyle players jumping fully clothed into the sea!
