A MOST successful shoot was held on Sunday at the club's woodlands of the Hotel Endsleigh near Milton Abbot.

More than 150 people attended from the clubs in the south west, shooting at 30 targets placed around the site.

The field archers had nine categories with three awards in each set. The youngest archer was six years-old, and the eldest was more than 70 years. Prizes were awarded by Hotel Endsleigh's under manager, Richard Dawson.

Two more big shoots are planned for June and August, when it is expected that archers from around the world will attend. Meanwhile shooting will continue regularly, at the venue.

Field archery (shooting in woodland) is a rapidly growing sport with 20 venues currently in the South West and more being planned.
