POLICE are appealing for information after a hit and run accident in Callington last week.

The accident occurred at around 8.25pm on Wednesday, February 17, on a minor road running from Callington to Dupath Well.

The collision involved a Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 pick-up truck and a Nissan X-Trail. It is understood there was considerable front end damage to the Ford pick-up but that the vehicle did not stop and drove off at speed.

The pick-up was found abandoned in an isolated field some ten minutes after and police later discovered it had been stolen prior to the accident.

Officers said the Ford pick-up was a local vehicle and they hoped a member of the public may remember seeing it being driven in the Kelly Bray or Callington areas during the evening leading up to 8.25pm when the collision occurred.

If anyone has any information about this vehicle, please contact the police on 08452 777444 quoting police log 765 170210.
