WINNING a prestigious award has delighted the dedicated members of Tavistock Musical Theatre Company.
The group was awarded the National Operatic and Dramatic Association Certificate of Excellence for last autumn's sell-out production of 'Anything Goes'.
The theatre company was delighted to have been awarded the NODA certificate for the South West Region 2, especially as the group was up against major companies from the South West for the 'top spot'.
Chairman Julian Bennett attended the regional conference at Bicton College, Budleigh Salterton, and accepted the award from Mike Hicks, the president of NODA.
And already the rehearsals are well underway for this year's autumn production of 'Mack and Mabel'.
The story of Mack and Mabel is based on the tumultuous relationship between Hollywood director Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand, a nobody who becomes one of the biggest stars of the silver screen.
The show will feature music made famous by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in their famous Olympic ice dance routine.
The show will be at The Wharf from Tuesday, October 28 to Saturday, November 1. Tickets are now on sale.
