HEREWITH my 'ode' to 2012, with apologies to 'the twelve days of Christmas', and sung to the same tune:
On the first day of Christmas found discarded on the ground — a bag of wrappers from Macdonalds and KFC, two dirty nappies, three broken beer glasses, four supermarket bills, five different envelopes, six plastic bottles, seven bags of dog waste, eight Costa coffee cartons, nine sweet papers, ten assorted beer cans, eleven paper handkies, twelve plastic bags.
All the above items I have found and binned recently during the short walk from my home to fetch my daily paper from Spar.
I wrote this 'ode' to try to encourage people to put their rubbish or dog waste in the bins provided.
Happy new year everybody, and let's keep Tavistock litter free.
