FORMER Tavistock mayor Norma Woodcock did the opening honours at Whitchurch Village Produce and Handicraft Show.

Mrs Woodcock (above right) told exhibitors that while she had no experience of produce shows, she had learned a lot about them while listening to the 'Ambridge' show!

She spent time looking round the entries and talking with exhibitors, before presenting the prizes and congratulating everyone on the high standard of the entries.

Patty Congo thanked Norma for giving her time and presented her with flowers and a basket of home-made goods.

June James, St Andrew's WI president, thanked Patty Congo, Jill White and Kit Thomas for the hard work they had put into making the show so successful, with more exhibitors and entries than last year.

She also thanked all the WI members whose efforts made the show run so smoothly.
