SON-RISE Cup organiser Allen Lewis has become the new commercial manager of Tavistock AFC.
Mr Lewis said he was very honoured to be appointed to the post.
He said: 'As a family we have been accepted by the members and accepted by the members and supporters of this super little football club.
'With the ever growing success of the Son-Rise Cup Event, I feel, now that Paul is at school, the time is right for me to help take the club into the 21st century.
Mr Lewis said that his goal is this to surround Langsford Park with ground boards by the end of the 2009-2010 season and to give corporate businesses and groups a chance to enjoy entertaining in the Robin Fenner Suite.'
'It is an exciting time too as I have a good link with a celebrity speaker company who have helped me raise thousands for charity and I intend to organize dinners with famous people to bring a positive profile to the club.'
One famous name is that of horse rider Bob Champion MBE who will be appearing at the Red and Black Club on Saturday, November 7.
Football fan Allen added: 'Ian Southcott, the manager, has my 100% backing! He is a talented man who has a good eye for football and I wish him well.
'I also enjoy supporting Karl Gatcom's Reserves, many of whom have become friends! So please support my role in the club and wish everyone well for 2009-10 season!'
