THE exciting launch of ROC Welcome Tavistock — a hub of social opportunity for local people with learning disabilities — is taking place in March with the support of the Bedford Hotel and sponsors Chilcotts Solicitors and Francis Clark LLP.

The launch will take place at the Bedford Hotel on March 27, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Jane Anning, club manager, said: 'ROC took over this long established club from Gateway 18 months ago as ROC Welcome Tavistock.

'We have steadily instilled a new scope and dynamic within the club with ownership gradually being transferred to the members.

'Supported by Geoffrey Cox MP, the launch will see ROC unveil its vision for the club, based on mutually beneficial support and community inclusion.'

David Wilde from Chilcotts Solicitors said: 'We are proud to be a key sponsor for this prestigious launch and to be involved in such a worthwhile project for the local community. We are keen to see this develop and flourish for the future.'

Guy Talbot from Francis Clark said: 'Francis Clark is delighted to support ROC in this venture.  As a firm, particularly in Tavistock, we have been involved for many years in support of charities which assist people with learning difficulties and are very pleased that this project is moving forward.'

ROC has obtained some funding from trusts to help secure the club's immediate future and is now developing a wide ranging plan to ensure its long term sustainability and development.

The aim of the launch reception is to raise awareness of ROC Welcome Tavistock in the local community.

ROC wants to attract people from every sector of the wider Tavistock community to attend the launch and find out about the many ways they can get involved.
