Okehampton 2
OKEHAMPTON men played their last game of the year in a friendly fixture against Tavistock, held at Kelly College.
The visitors started confidently and dominated possession with a number of great attacks. Okehampton's efforts were soon rewarded as a result of a good through ball from Brett Lawson finding man of the match Jake Lloyd, who coolly slotted the ball beyond the Tavistock goalkeeper Paul Mingo.
The home team then started to up their game and Okehampton's defence of Tim Morgan, John Jarvis, Mark Bingham and Ed Howard kept the attacks back and at half time the visitors deserved their 1-0 lead.
Tavistock looked a different side after the break and the game opened up with both teams going on the attack and game was destined for more goals. The home side caught Okehampton on the counter attack to level the scores.
The score stayed the same until the last 10 minutes when Tavistock were awarded a short corner, which was converted by the Tavistock forward.
The visitors eventually got a deserved equaliser through Josh Balsdon after a goal mouth scramble.
Overall the draw was a fair result for both sides to end the year on a high.
