TAVISTOCK Lions celebrated the success of this year’s carnival with an after-carnival fundraising bash in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Members of the Lions as well as friends and family enjoyed the bash last Sunday, which was hosted by Tavistock Lion Ken Shield and his wife Sharon in the Shields DIY courtyard on Vigo Bridge Road.
The courtyard was decorated with a dragon that took part in the carnival parade and huge props used in a production of The Lion King. At the event revellers enjoyed live music, food, a bar, raffle and more.
Ken Shield said that the kind support of everyone who attended had raised over £600 upon first count, and he was hopeful that the total could rise to £1,000.
