A CAB kiosk has been set up at West Devon Borough Council's customer service centre in Okehampton, to help people get free up-to-the- minute information on a range of issues that may make their lives better. Installed by West Devon Citizens' Advice Bureau, the kiosk is a user friendly touch screen computer. By using the kiosk, customers can get access to continually updated information on topics such as benefits, tax, employment, legal matters, housing, and consumer advice. The new kiosk is at the borough council's customer service centre in St James Street. Mayor of West Devon Cllr Dennis Bater was introduced to the new kiosk by Barbara Osborne, Manager of West Devon CAB. He said: 'It's a fantastic facility and so easy to use. 'The kiosk can connect you up to so many different agencies including the Jobcentre Plus and Pensions Service.' West Devon's customer service advisors are on hand to help the public use the equipment, which has been fully funded by the CAB through the South Devon and Dartmoor Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, and Devon Renaissance. Mandy Kenyon, development officer for West Devon Citizens' Advice Bureau, said: 'We're delighted that our services have been extended by the kiosk through working with West Devon Borough Council. 'The kiosk will enable people to access information directly and if it proves successful we hope to replicate it in other areas of West Devon.'
