AN Okehampton teenager this week admitted burgling a fireman's home and stealing antiques and medals.
Billy Little, 18, admitted burgling the property in Okehampton, one night last month as the occupants slept. He stole antiques, cash and medals awarded to the firefighter, worth £1,231.
Exeter magistrates heard on Tuesday that the stolen items which were recovered had sentimental value.
Prosecutor Sonia Croft said the break-in happened at night as the occupants were at home.
Defence lawyer Nick Bradley Little became downhearted when he could not get a plumbing apprenticeship and started drinking and getting involved with the wrong crowd.
Mr?Bradley said the trainee plumber may be moving to Southampton.
The case was committed to Exeter Crown Court for a judge to sentence Little because that court has greater powers of sentence. He was granted conditional bail until he appears before a judge in November.
