GUNNISLAKE Village Hall is all warmed up and raring to go as community life begins to wake up again. Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, the new heating system is operational and events are starting to be held again, beginning with the village hall AGM on Saturday, October 2.
Committee members are hoping to see as many people as possible on the night to show their support after a ’very trying’ 18 months.During that time various areas inside the hall and outside have been improved.’Come and see what we’ve been up to and what we have to offer,’ said committee member Lorna Potter.Alongside the meeting, there is the opportunity to view excess hall furniture and to rehome it for free. All sorts of chairs and tables need to find new homes to free up the space, especially in the lower hall. Lorna added: ’Viewing of the furniture is from 10.30am with refreshments available, including delicious homemade cakes. ’The AGM starts at 11am and we promise to make it short and informative. We are inviting volunteers to join our committee, who all share the responsibility of the hall in different ways. ’In particular, we’d love to hear from anyone who would be interested in running our social media and website â?? if you know what you’re doing, it wouldn’t be a big job.’
