IDDESLEIGH WI members and guests had cause for celebration last Thursday, as the group celebrated its 80th anniversary.
Members enjoyed a fine lunch at the Duke of York as well as games and reminiscing.
The afternoon ended with Peter Banbury proposing a toast before the cutting of the celebratory cake by president Joan Weeks.
Mr Banbury's mother Mary Banbury was present at the inaugural meeting of the Iddesleigh WI in 1934 — as was Mr Banbury, who was born a few months later.
Six of the 15 members have amassed an incredible 300 years of membership between them.
