PUPILS from Hatherleigh Primary School cut the ribbon to open the newly-refurbished Co-op store in the town. The store, in Bridge Street, was closed for a week for the complete refurbishment, which has provided more shelves, new freezers and chiller cabinets. A spokesperson said the change would enable a wider range of products to be sold. The store opened approximately 30 years ago as part of Internationals, and has been part of one of the Co-op groups for some time, but became a Co-op ?proper? 18 months ago.
