THE Spring Taste and See took place at the Terrace Restaurant in Tavistock recently.

The speaker was Karine Law who manages a programme called Rehab in Plymouth, which supports women involved in prostitution. It offers practical, emotional and spiritual support to help women who seem trapped and also those who actively want to change their lifestyle.

Karine gave a very gripping account of her life growing up in France with a cold and unloving mother. She escaped to the UK age 18, subsequently met her husband and settled in Plymouth.

Her husband was a Christian but she did not come to faith until she had a dramatic encounter with God in her own kitchen.

It was this experience coupled with her background that drove her to complete a psychology degree followed by a counselling course. All these skills come into play in her current work.

Her talk was generally rated as one of the best heard at Taste end See. Ruth Newman thanked Karin and also the Terrace Restaurant for an excellent meal.

The summer Taste and See will take place in the early part of July. Details will be advertised nearer the time.
