A VIBRANT day of balloon tennis, dancing and more took place on?Monday for adults with learning disabilities.
The event, one of four taking place each year, was organised by Puzzletree in Okehampton and a variety of other partnering groups, including OCRA.
The fun day was free to attend, and offered a variety of sports to encourage people to try new activities, as well as those they already enjoy.
Boccia, seated exercise and table tennis were among the activities. All the games played are achievable for people who are wheelchair-dependent.
Research last year showed that participation in sports by people with disabilities, which is already below that of people without disabilities, is declining.
Devon County Councillor Kevin Ball and town mayor Cllr the Rev Mike Davies visited the event to see the activities on offer.
Cllr Ball said: 'When you come in here, there is such a great vibe, and everyone is clearly having a good time, so it is good to see this sort of thing here in Okehampton.'
Fulfilling Life's team leader for Devon County Council's adult community services Tracey Seymour said: 'I am humbled by the motivation of our team who have gone above and beyond their job description to put on an event like this. The variety of sports opens it up to people, and brings a lot of people here.'
