STANNARY Brass Band hopes its Tuba Appeal will be 'instrumental' in helping it out of a tricky situation!
The band is going from strength to strength and now has almost 80 playing members, from complete beginners upwards.
Unfortunately with this success comes the problem of finding instruments for members to play, and they need to raise £15,000 in order to buy four new tubas.
Stephen Gray from the band said tickets for a grand draw, which will be part of their Tuba Appeal, would be on sale soon and they hoped the people of Tavistock would support them.
There will be an open day organised by the band in mid June to give people a chance to speak to members and learn more about the their work.
