The event, organised by the Lamerton Parish Hall committee, took place on Sunday, May 23 in a field owned by Mr and Mrs William Eggins in the heart of the village.
Prizes for the duck race were sponsored by Carrs Garage and Roger Young Landrovers, with prizewinners being Geoffrey Walker, Daniel Worth, Tom Medland and Jim Crockford.
Fundraising for the project is ongoing, with other events being planned. The next is a barn dance on Saturday, June 19 at Derriton Farm, by permission of Mr and Mrs S Reddicliffe. The grand draw will also take place at this event.
The project will also have a place at Tavistock and Villages Initiative's Brokers' Day, due to take place in Tavistock Town Hall on Wednesday, June 16. The hall committee is looking forward to being able to put its case to the funders, who will be attending on that day.
