TAVISTOCK Football Club held its end of season presentation evening at the Red and Black Club recently.
It had been a good season for the Lambs teams with the Jewson side finishing in 9th position and reaching the Semi finals of the Devon Premier Cup. The P & D side finished in 5th position and were the winners of the Plymouth & District Combination Premier Cup.
The youth side did not have the best of seasons in the league but did well to make it to the Devon Youth cup final to lose to Plymstock.
Plymouth and District Combination Chairman Jim Sandford was the guest of honour and made the presentations: Youth Players' Player, Chris Short; Manager's Player, Alex Ross; Most Improved, Richard Allen; Clubman of the Year, Ben Rowe; Young Player of the Year, Steve Daymond.
P & D Player of the Year, Steve Brownlow and Darren Halfyard;
Jewson South Western League Player of the Year, Andy Meeds.
The George Witchell Trophy. Club leading goal Scorer Steve Daymond.
The Alf Seeley Trophy for services to the Youth Team Dave Rowe.
The Ron Bowman Trophy for services to the Club Angie Beer.
The Presidents Club person of the year Les Mewton, Jewson Physio.
Long serving secretary Phil Lowe was also rewarded recently for all his hard work when he picked up the Plymouth & District Combination League Secretary of the Year.
The Club is pleased to announce that P & D managers Chris Abbott and Craig Smith have been appointed the Jewson South Western League Managers for the forthcoming season.
Chairman Dave Rowe said: 'We are delighted to have them onboard and it will maintain a local interest.'
Both Chris and Craig have long been associated with Tavistock and with ex-professional Graeme Kirkup joining the ranks it looks to be another good year for the Lambs.
With the above announcement it leaves a vacancy at P & D level and the club welcomes applications for the post. Applications should be sent to the Secretary, Tavistock Football Club, Langsford Park, Tavistock.
