EVERY pupil in the fifth and sixth forms at Mount House School was involved in the senior school play, that entertained parents, teachers and the youger pupils for two evenings in the Wortham Hall recently.

Those who were not actually performing on stage, were responsible for lighting, special effects and backstage duties, and even the programmes were produced by the children.

This year's production was 'The Seven Golden Dragons' by Randall Lewton, a fast-moving musical fantasy in which the Elflings lead peaceful, beautiful lives until they are threatened by the Orcs, under their leader Znacbar, played by Rosie Luther with great stage presence and superb diction.

The Orcs are after the special magic held by the Elflings, and Znacbar lets it be known that an Elfling a day will be killed until they relinquish the magic.

The Elflings mistake a seven-a side football team from the Golden Dragon pub for The Seven Golden Dragons who, legend says, will save them in times of need. The seven lads in the team find themselves transported to Dragon's Land before eventually inspiring the Elflings to defend themselves successfully from the evil Orcs.

The other leading parts were played by Guy Gillard, Anthony Hayward and Emma Jackman.

There were highly amusing contributions from Lizzie Fearnley, Ned Bartleet, Benedict Pugsley and Laurie Kent, though the entire cast should be congratulated on performing so well.
