THE letter sent by Mike Davies (December 16) sends out a clarion call to those of us who are privileged to have the right to vote. He describes us as ?indifferent and disinterested in politics and politicians?. I could ask, ?Why are we so indifferent and disinterested in politics and politicians? Is it because they never listen to the people who vote for them?? He asks what can be done about the continuing downward spiral with regard to values and morality. Here are a few thoughts about these issues: ? 1. I agree that I need to use my vote ? but who on earth should get my vote? 2. Where can I find the time and the space to consider such questions? 3. Where do I start? How about my coins? What do I see? D.G.REG.F.D. a) These abbreviations, I discover, tell me that our monarch rules by the grace of God and is the Defender of the Faith. b) Moreover I read that the Queen took the coronation oath while placing one hand on the bible, which is described as ?the most valuable thing this world affords . . .? 6. Now where can I find out about ?Faith in God? and the values demonstrated in the Bible? Do readers have other thought and ideas about these questions?
