LAUNCESTON ladies' hockey club are in a higher league yet the game could have gone either way.

Launceston took the lead due to an own goal by Tavistock. Tavistock soon took back possession with an excellent goal from Judy Smallacombe who struck the ball hard and aggressively straight past the goalkeeper.

Tavistock took the lead with a well formed goal from Laura Armstrong who, with Cath Collar and Judy Smallacombe, worked the ball up-field for Laura to put it away.

Launceston quickly pulled back another goal despite the hard efforts of Fiona Dunn, Babs Horton and Rebecca Creasey. Launceston were fuelled by their previous attack and another goal was scored resulting in a 3-2 lead.

Minutes before the end of the first half Sue Gawman was fed the ball in the D and made no mistake about where it was going, into the back of the goalmouth.

In the second half Launceston scored three goals in succession. With the scoreline reading 6-3 Judy produced another great goal to finish the match at 6-4.
