TAVISTOCK put up a determined fight on Saturday in the Devon Inter-Club Championship Competition held at Central Park but encountered some strong oppositon and were disappointed to finish in18th place.

However, the squad never gave up trying and managed to record no fewer than 20 personal best times in a well-run and sporting competition with excellent swimming from all the clubs.

The breastroke events gave Tavistock their highest placings with Kirsty Best swimming a personal best in the 11/under 50m event to take fourth place with Matthew Lake taking fifth in the men?s 100m, also in a personal best time, and Christopher Ralph swimming to sixth place in the 100m 15/under event.
