POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was hit in the face with liquid thrown from a moving vehicle on Brook Street, Tavistock on Thursday, May 28 at around 1.15pm.

Police said the liquid was believed to have been thrown from the passenger side of a white van that was driving from the church end of Brook Street towards Lawsons. The liquid hit the woman in the face as she was walking on the pavement.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Thankfully there are no injuries and it is not known what the substance was but it appeared colourless and odourless.

‘There was a young male walking behind her carrying a tool bag of some description and he managed to take a photo of the van as it went passed him. Unfortunately the victim did not get his details.’

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident and to the man who took the picture of the van. Call 101 and quote CR/42851/20.
