FIREARMS officers from Plymouth arrested three men in Tavistock but released them without charge yesterday afternoon (January 22).

A vehicle was stopped in Tavistock and three men were found with toy guns and were arrested near the Alexander Centre on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear.

Police had been investigating reports that a group of people were driving around Plympton with suspected firearms.

A police spokesperson said: ‘All three men were taken into custody for questioning and were later released without charge.’
