A MAN faces years in prison after he admitted robbing a pensioner of more than £2,000 in broad daylight in Tavistock town centre.
Tony McDonough, aged 30, appeared at Plymouth Crown Court to plead guilty to taking the money from a man in his 80s.
A second man will face a judge and jury after he denied robbery.
McDonough, of Canal Road in Tavistock, admitted robbing the man of £2,213 and two cheques at around 10.30am on October 10.
David Knight, aged 35, of Rodda Close, Calstock, pleaded not guilty to the same offences.
Judge Paul Darlow set down a trial to last two days for Knight, starting on January 25 next year.
McDonough will be sentenced after a judge establishes the facts of the robbery in the trial. But he faces a prison term of several years under guidelines.
Both men were remanded into custody until the trial.
