A MAN has died following a serious collision on the A30 near Sourton yesterday (Tuesday, January 31).

Police were called just before 4.40pm to reports of a single car collision on the A30 near Sourton.

A Mercedes SLK 200 was travelling towards Cornwall when it left the carriageway to the nearside.

The driver of the car,a 49-year-old man from Swindon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger, a 49-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

At the time of the collision it was raining heavily and visibility was reduced.
