• A man was arrested in Tavistock for being drunk and disorderly in the early hours of Saturday, July 29. The offender was chased by police from Church Lane until he was caught on Duke Street. He was also found with two small buds of cannabis in his possession. CR/062938/17. 

• Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a vehicle parked on Old Exeter Road in Tavistock was criminally damaged. The incident happened between 6.30pm on August 1 and 2pm on August 2. The silver BMW had its wing mirror damaged and was scratched with a sharp object. CR/064379.

• A woman stole goods from Yelverton’s Co-op store on Saturday, July 29. The thief filled her arms with sandwiches, steaks and other goods and walked out of the store without offering payment. CR/604301.  

• Four women — three of them wearing pyjamas — attempted to steal baskets filled with shopping from the Co-op in Yelverton on Wednesday, August 2. The women separated and went in different directions around the store. They filled up baskets but dumped their shopping when they realised they were being followed by staff, who had recognised the woman in regular clothing as someone involved in a shoplift which took place the previous week. • A man was arrested in Tavistock’s Bedford Square after he made rude gestures at the police on July 29. The incident happened at around 11pm after police were called to reports of the man acting drunk and disorderly. He was arrested and given a fixed penalty charge for breaching the peace. • An attempted burglary occurred at The Market Inn in Tavistock overnight between Sunday, July 30 and Monday, July 31. The offender broke into the public house through the back door, however, no property was taken and no damage was caused.  Police would be keen to speak to anyone who might have any information about the incident. • A black Volkswagen parked in Morrisons car park in Tavistock was criminally damaged on Sunday, July 30 at around 3pm. The car, which was parked in the parent and child parking section, was scratched by a sharp object on the rear near side of the vehicle. CR/063772.

• The attempted theft of a vehicle parked on Whitchurch Road, Tavistock occurred between 8.30pm on July 31 and 8am on August. 1. The offender broke into the blue Vauxhall Corsa using the side door and attempted to steal the car as police discovered the steering column had been damaged. CR/063906

• A car parked at the Little Chef restaurant in Sourton was criminally damaged on July 29 between 4pm and 7pm. The car had all four of its tyres slashed. CR/063535

• Police are investigating a theft from the WHSmith store on Duke Street, Tavistock. The incident took place on July 29 at 12.25pm. The thief, who was caught on CCTV, entered the store and stole items of stock, including stationary. CR/062982/17.
