A 60s THEMED evening held in Okehampton was a great success when it raised money for charity this month.

A Bit To Do, organised by Chris and Christine Soper of Okehampton, raised £502.50 for registered charity, Caring Matters Now, which supports families and sufferers of Congenital Melanocytic Naevi (CMN)

The couple offered their help to Okehampton residents, Mark and Hannah Woods, whose six year old son, Morgan, suffers from CMN.

The event welcomed 37 guests, who paid £15 for a three-course meal, which included a welcome drink of Bucks Fizz.

Ten per cent of the ticket price went to CMN.

During the evening there was a silent auction of goods and services, donated by local businesses and inhabitants of Okehampton.

Thanks were expressed to all who supported the event, including, Martin's Bistro, Bob's Garage, Mikal's Hairdressers, James Hull Dentist, Underhills Estate Agents, Waitrose, Birchstream Farm, W.J Cornish and Son Jewellers, Red Rooster Cafe, Martin's Butchers, Merlin New Carlton Cinema, In-House, The Fountain Inn, Mrs Cissie Morrish for a bottle of sherry, Mrs Diane Harding for a photograph album, Mr John Thomas for a bottle of whiskey and Mrs Liz Squires for a bottle of wine.

Anyone who would like to know more about the charity or who wants to donate can phone Hannah Woods on 01837 871282.
